The Grand Escape Italia Slovenia 2027 is the first event to mark in your calendar for the new year: for Udine, for lovers of free-spirited cycle travel… and for Hotel Suite Inn too!
See you on 12 June in Udine for a new adventure on two wheels,
a long-distance road bikepacking event.
Our Team already knows we’ll be setting the alarm early to serve breakfast ahead of time, so that participants in The Grand Escape can be on time for the start:
at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday 12 June 2027 in Piazza Libertà, Udine.
And there’s no better place or square to kick off The Grand Escape:
those taking part aren’t just looking for a cycling challenge, they’re choosing a way of travelling built around freedom, discovery and the joy of sharing a passion.
For an urban bike hotel like Hotel Suite Inn, welcoming these travellers means offering a place to start from and return to in the city, with small bike-friendly services and the chance to get to know Udine and Friuli Venezia Giulia before or after the adventure.
Year after year, we’ve come to know the typical Grand Escape participant better, and what we love is that they are travellers, not tourists.
They travel to experience a long-distance cycling adventure, with no competition and freedom as their companion, riding along roads preselected by the organisers at their own pace, self-supported yet sharing the journey with other enthusiasts.
The event is the reason for setting off, but the experience along the way is personal, subjective and unique. The meaning of the journey belongs to each rider, and there are as many journeys as there are participants in every Grand Escape!
That’s why, when the information campaign and countdown to The Grand Escape begins, we already know we’ll be changing our routines to meet the needs of riders arriving from all over the world, literally!
Our in-house Team knows we’ll be up at dawn to set up breakfast and give energy to our guests, whom we’ll be cheering on, connecting with their stories from the very first minute!
They know we’ll make the best use of our space to store the gear left behind, bike boxes waiting for bikes and their owners to return in the saddle after 800 kilometres, …and much more.
We love the work behind an event like The Grand Escape: an organiser’s ability to know their community, build a route and give so many people a good reason to set off.
We love that Udine is a cycle travel destination, not just as a point marked on the route, but as a city to arrive in, sleep in, get ready in and come back to, and even stay a little longer to rest!
And we love the organisers: a strong, skilled Friulian team of young, lovely, passionate long-distance self-supported riders,
genuine bike travellers whom we admire and who make us think that maybe one day we could too…
For now, we’re doing our part as Hotel Suite Inn, Urban Bike Hotel, responding with enthusiasm and with what we do best, with flexibility, with the spaces we have and with a willingness to change our habits a little to fully support an event that brings to Udine as many cycling stories as there are participants… hundreds!!!!
On Saturday 12 June 2027, The Grand Escape Italia Slovenia 2027 sets off from Udine and will bring participants back to Udine after a brand-new route, to be revealed in the coming months.
